Background
This exciting conference (now being held for the second time in India) is project managed by Jeff Ross and Martyn Roads (of Assessment Tomorrow Ltd.) – the management team behind the highly successful Assessment Tomorrow Conferences in Bangalore (in 2007), Kuala Lumpur (twice), Dublin, Hong Kong and Glasgow and the annual e-Assessment Question in London (now in it’s seventh year).
The conference programme addresses the critical issue of
Skills Assessment and Development for the IT Enabled Industries.
This follows from the well publicised and established policy of the West Bengal government to establish West Bengal as one of India’s premier centres for BPO, KPO, Back Office, Middle Office, Data Management and Customer Service provision and hence drive inward investment.
In order to ensure the successful conclusion of this policy involves many strands of activity from infrastructure to marketing.
Central to that endeavour is the development of a skilled work force able to meet the demands and expectations of the Global marketplace.
It is with this in mind that the 2009 Assessment Tomorrow Kolkata conference addresses the key issues of assessing, training and developing the work force of West Bengal to meet these requirements.
In a series of formal presentations, case studies and open debate the conference will discuss the issues and the implications for the merging ITES and other industries in West Bengal.
